Frequently asked questions
What should a skid steer pre-start check include?
It should include the walk-around (tyres or tracks, fluids, leaks, lift arms and attachments), the cab and restraint bar, and a short operating test of the lift, tilt, drive and brake functions.
Why check the lap bar on a skid steer?
On most skid steers the lap bar locks out the lift and tilt functions when it is raised. Checking that it latches and that the lockout works is part of a normal pre-start check. Follow the manufacturer's manual for your machine.
Can I keep my skid steer pre-start records on my phone?
Yes. DiggerSafe records each check with the time and location and creates a PDF report you can share.
